Rest in Peace Former President Corazon Aquino

The former President Corazon Cojuangco Aquino died Saturday morning 3:18 a.m. August 1, 2009 at the age of 76 after fighting against her colon cancer disease.

Corazon Aquino had been appointed as the first female President not only in the Philippines but all over the Asian countries during the snap presidential elections against the Marcos administration in 1986.

In her time Corazon Aquino was appointed as the Woman of the year of the Time Magazine in 1986. Aside from that, she also received the Nobel Peace Prize award in the same year. It was the former president Corazon Aquino who amended the Philippine constitution into democracy. In her sixth-year of service, the former president was also been bombarded with various political issues from her opponents. Yet he continued her service as the mother of the country of which she received both the compliments and indignity.

Now that she was in the other part of the world, may the former President Corazon Aquino’s soul rest in peace.
