Holy Black Nazarene

Every year month of January, the ninth day of the month is the commemoration of the Black Nazarene. The famous statue of Jesus Christ which has a black façade due to the various calamities it had overcome. Accordingly, the original color of this holy statue was white, however because of the atrocious events that it encountered such like earthquakes, fire and bombing the holy statue’s color turned into black. Fortunately, despite those phenomenons this incredible holy statue was never been physically damage though its original white color turned to black.

It has been said that this Black Nazarene is believed to be miraculous and it can cure different type of illnesses and grant devotee’s prayers. Recently today, the increasing populations of the Black Nazarene devotees continue. The original Black Nazarene is housed in Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene particularly in Quiapo, Manila, Philippines. Today it already has two replicas, the original is permanently housed in the latter Minor Basilica, the other was designated somewhere in Luzon and just recently the 2nd replica was designated in Mindanao, particularly in Cagayan de Oro City.

Just this day the commemoration of the feast of Black Nazarene was successfully held in both regions of Luzon and Mindanao. As expected countless of devotees are joining the procession.
